Very Sick

Wed. thru Fri night finally fever broke Friday night after getting double antibiotics and strong nausea meds, It was very ugly around this house with mother out of commision, thank goodness for my awesome husband and my mom who helped fill in. When talking to my dad he got scared because of the swine flu thing and I didn't think anything of it until I got on the computer tonight and saw like 6 confirm cases in Kansas; I not sure what I had but I do not think I have ever felt so sick in my life. Thank you God for healing me.

I liked this, copied off another blog.

Why Did You Make Me Black Lord ....
author: unknown

Lord ...
Why did you make me black?
Why did you make someone the world would hold back?
Black is the color of dirty clothes,
of grimy hands and feet...
Black is the color of darkness,
of tired beaten streets...

Why did you give me thick lips,
a broad nose and kinky hair?
Why did you create who receives the hated stare?

Black is the color of the bruised eye when someone gets hurt...
Black is the color of darkness,
black is the color of dirt.

Why is my bone structure so thick,
my hips and cheeks so high?
Why are my eyes brown,
and not the color of the sky?

Why do people think I'm useless?
How come I feel so used?
Why do people see my skin and think I should be abused?

Lord, I just don't understand...
What is it about my skin?
Why is it some people want to hate me and not know the person within?

Black is what people are "Labeled" when others want to keep them away...
Black is the color of shadows cast...
Black is the end of the day.

Lord you know my own people mistreat me,
and you know this just ain't right...
They don't like my hair, they don't like my skin,
as they say I'm too dark or too light!

Lord, don't you think it's time to make a change?
Why don't you redo creation and make everyone the same?

GOD's Reply:

Why did I make you black?

Why did I make you black?

I made you in the color of coal from which beautiful diamonds are formed...
I made you in the color of oil,
the black gold which keeps people warm.

Your color is the same as the rich dark soil that grows the food you need...
Your color is the same as the black stallion and panther,
Oh what majestic creatures indeed!

All colors of the heavenly rainbow can be found throughout every nation...
When all these colors are blended,
you become my greatest creation!

Your hair is the texture of lamb's wool,
such a beautiful creature is he...
I am the shepherd who watches them,
I will ALWAYS watch over thee!

You are the color of the midnight sky,
I put star glitter in your eyes...
There's a beautiful smile hidden behind your pain...
That's why your cheeks are so high!

You are the color of dark clouds from the hurricanes I create in September...
I made your lips so full and thick,
so when you kiss...they will remember!

Your stature is strong,
your bone structure thick to withstand the burden of time...
The reflection you see in the mirror,
that image that looks back...that is MINE!

So get off your knees,
look in the mirror and tell me what you see?
I didn't make you in the image of darkness...
I made you in the image of ME!

Child advocacy group honors officer

Mark Schlachtenhaufen
The Edmond Sun

EDMOND — An old adage says no man stands taller than when he stoops to help a child.

Edmond Police Officer Randy Payne has done just that, and Tuesday morning the March of Dimes thanked Payne with a surprise and a bonus, a hug from a plucky little girl who has benefited from the organization.

Beforehand, without telling him the real reason, Sgt. Paul Barbour told Payne to be at the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation’s Forensic Science Center.

Several March of Dimes representatives, members of the Edmond Police Department, OSBI officials, Katelyn Hall, 5, and her parents, Michael and Ashley Hall, gathered in a conference room.

Belinda Rogers, public affairs director for the Oklahoma March of Dimes chapter, let the “cat out of the bag” when she told Payne about the reason he was there.

“You have been instrumental in all of our Bikers for Babies events and such a supporter over the years, and we would like to honor you with a special certificate of appreciation for all you have done for the March of Dimes,” Rogers said.

Katelyn presented the framed certificate to Payne, and she gave him a hug and thanked him.

“It feels great,” Payne said of the recognition. “The March of Dimes is a great cause. I was proud to represent the Edmond Police Department for this organization and will continue to help out whenever I can.”

Payne said he has helped the March of Dimes with a local biker event the past several years.

Edmond Police Chief Bob Ricks said Payne is a role model in terms of the work he does both for the department and the community. Ricks said officers like Payne don’t do charity work for the recognition and they do it as private citizens.

“He is a person who’s gone beyond the regular requirements of the job and is truly dedicated to making this community and the state a better place in which to live,” Ricks said.

Last year, more than 45,000 riders and 250 motorcycle clubs joined to help the March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

On Nov. 16, 2003, due to the rapid onset of HELLP Syndrome, Katelyn was born prematurely at 25 weeks, weighing less than a pound and measuring the length of a ball-point pen. Her parents, of Leesburg, Va., were told she had about a 5 percent chance of surviving.

In the newborn intensive care unit, Katelyn faced many challenges common to babies born too soon. After five long months, the Halls were able to bring their daughter home. Katelyn’s medical bills totaled about $1 million, Michael Hall said.

Since 2004, the family has helped raise funds for research and awareness of the problem of premature birth to help other families.

“We can’t imagine life without Katelyn, and we can’t imagine life without the March of Dimes,” Michael Hall said.

Ashley Hall said without the support of individuals like Payne, Katelyn would not be here. March of Dimes research went to one of the treatments Katelyn received when she was receiving intensive care, she said.

“Without that treatment she wouldn’t have made it,” she said.

As the 2009 national ambassador, Katelyn and her parents are traveling across the country, sharing their story.

Ashley Hall said with her husband being a police officer he is making an effort to reach out to the police community, to work with the community to spread the word about the March of Dimes.

“We’ve met a lot of police officers and sheriff’s deputies on our tour and I’m just amazed at how they come out and really support us and help us with our mission,” she said.

So far he is doing really well Aaron that is with the baby girl. She is so tiny and he is a little confused as to what she is is pretty funny but he wants to hold her non stop. Baby's are so sweet I love their smell and to just hold them is so relaxing. Miss Ashlein went home yesterday we had a great time together and look forward to the next.

Fun, busy day

We started the day by going to cousin Cody's tennis tournament but way to cold so we headed home stoped off at Sonic and grabbed chicken and fries Healthy huh and went home for lunch, both little ones took great naps and woke up after about one and half hours we went off to Aarons weekly OT apt., He has never worked so hard for his teacher as watching Miss Ash kept him on his toes, really good for him she is a little genius putting puzzles together so fast and ready for the next in minutes, her desire for more and more knowledge is amazing! We then picked Madi up from school played a little and headed off to Aaron's soccer practice but guess I was the only one who didn't get the memo no practice so we just decided to play at the park, run, laugh, and just have fun. We came home to dye easter eggs oh what an experience with a 3 and 2 year old Aaron decided to try to break the eggs open he and he did, he also wanted to eat them, and Ash decided to finger paint with the dye "ew" what a mess but fun and all done now LOL! Pray for good weather tommrow we will try for the third time to get family pictures made.

I need to post pictures of Aaron and Ashlein helping me make dinner chicken pot pie tonight but they are off of my phone so I need to download them seperatly, my camera was in car and it was not home so I grabbed the phone cam because it is priceless to see the two of them scooping mix into the crust of course Aaron decides to eat the filling all boy!

We have a Band!

Let me just say both of these cuties love music they were rocking out! They were so happy to see each other today they have laughed, fought and most of all loved each other! We had a great evening went out to Mexican they both sat in high chairs against Aarons will but for our sanity, Ashlein began choking on something so I jumped up to get her and pat her back and then held her on my lap, so after Aaron observed this he begans to cough and gag looking at us all as we began to laugh at his great acting skills to try to get out of his high chair he was like what it worked for her; pretty funny, we all made it home alive and well. Two tired kiddos down fast asleep by 7:00! Hummm wonder what time we will be up in the morning.

Easter Weekend

So excited for this Thursday, I will head to Enid to pick up our sweet girl for the weekend! We are getting pictures done as a family so I will post as soon as I can. Aaron is so excited for A to visit as he asks for her daily. Can't wait to watch the two of them running around together getting eggs as they are old enough now to get a little bit of the easter egg hunt. I always look so forward to our time together! Then Monday and Tuesday I will be doing respite for a fostermom friend, a tiny baby girl she is only six pounds can't wait to hold a tiny baby again! We will see how it goes with a newborn in the house with Mr. Aaron and take it from there as to open our home again to emergency baby placements, pray that God speaks loudly to me as to where to go from here!
